PRIVATE ISLAND SINGER CASTLE Singer Castle is one of New York State's most distinguished and memorable landmarks The Castle stands on a landscaped private island in the St. Lawrence River at the US.- Canada border, In 1902 it was built for the President of the Singer Marufacturing Company, producer of Singer Sewing Machines, and the building is one of the finest examples of architecture from America's guilded age. A multimillion dollar renovation ot the property was completed in 2003, and caretul maintenance and upgrading have continued since then. The Castle is currently a popular tourist attraction offering guided day tours, wedding parties, and ovenight stays. The Castle could be used as a completely private residence.
