The community moved into the "Blue Phase" on May 25. In her letter approving the request, CDPHE Executive Director jill Ryan referenced the county's declining trend in cases and ability to investigate new cases, as well as the medical community's available resources to treat patients. The variance is contingent upon keeping the disease spread of COVID-19 at manageable levels. Information about each phase and community expectations for success are available at www.eaglecounty.us. Eagle County buildings scheduled for phased reopening today Beginning Mon. June 1, Eagle County facities and operations will start a phased reopening for in-person services with required safety protocols. The buildings have been closed since March 16 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new operating procedures and limited hours will be in effect until at least June 22, when the county tentatively plans to move into the Black Phase of its Transition Trail Map. Members of the public and all employees will be required to wear face coverings and adhere to social distancing, as well as ocupancy requirements. Those who cannot wear a face covering due to a medical condition or otherwise feel uncomfortable are encouraged to conduct business over the phone, via email, or online. County updates collaborative COVID-19 Business Toolkit Eagle County is sharing a Blue Phase COVID-19 Business Toolkit to help local businesses navigate the transition to the Public Health Order that became effective May 25. The toolkit was developed as a collaborative effort between the county, the Vail Valley Foundation Vail Valley Partnership, and the Basalt Chamber of Commerce. It was designed to organize and consolidate guidance and resources available to businesses as they move to operate with greater latitude. The toolkit is available at www.tinyurl.com/ECBusinessToolkit. The county would like to remind employers to check in with employees on a daly basis to ensure that individuals who are feeling ill stay at home and do not come into work. Social distancing and other protocols outlined in the toolkit must be followed to remain in compliance with the Public Health Order. County to resume public hearings with modified procedures Eagle County has developed procedures for public meetings and hearings that allow for constituent participation while complying with the county's current Public Health Order regarding COVID-19. Beginning June 2, the county will resume public hearings on matters before the Board of County Commissioners, as well as public hearings in front of other county boards and commissions on land use files, liquor licenses and other topics. Members of the public will be required to sign up in advance for attendance at all meetings and hearings so that room capacity can be monitored. A sign-up sheet for each individual meeting will be available at www.eaglecounty.us, as well as linked to Board of County Commissioner agendas, Planning Commission agendas. or other meeting agendas as appropriate.
